Egg Art Silent Auction Rules, Terms, & Conditions

This will be a 2 phase auction. Phase 1 is the Absentee/Proxy Bidding prior to the AEA Convention. Phase 2 is the Silent Auction Bidding which will take place from 9am-6pm ET, July 18, 2014, at the AEA Convention being held at Embassy Suites East Peoria Hotel & Conference Center, 100 Conference Center Dr, East Peoria, IL 61611.

Phase 1 Bidding - Absentee/Proxy Bidding Prior to Convention

  • Deadline for Absentee/Proxy Bids - July 17th, 2014, 4pm ET. The AEA will NOT be responsible for bids arriving after the deadline or bids not received for any reason.
  • All bidders are required to submit a Absentee/Proxy Bidder Registration & Bid Submission Form. Completed forms can be submitted online, or by mail or fax.
  • Minimum Absentee/Proxy Bid is $25.00. Any bid amount over this is acceptable.
  • Bid the maximum amount that you're willing to pay for an item.
  • An AEA representative at the silent auction event on July 18th, 2014 will bid on your behalf. As the auction proceeds, we'll compare your bid to those of other bidders. When you're outbid, we'll automatically bid on your behalf up to your maximum bid. We'll bid only as much as necessary to make sure that you remain the high bidder up to your maximum bid amount. Your maximum bid is kept confidential.
  • If more than one bid of the same value is received, the first one received will take precedence.
  • No International Absentee/Proxy Bids will be accepted.
  • Bidders must be 18 years of age or older.
  • By placing an Absentee/Proxy bid you agree to abide by all rules, terms, and conditions of the contest and you accept responsibility to purchase the item.
  • Acceptable Payment Forms for Absentee/Proxy Bidders - PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. No checks or money orders will be accepted.
  • Disclaimer: We assume no responsibility for failure to execute these bids for any reason whatsoever.
Phase 2 Bidding - Silent Auction Bidding at the Convention
  • Silent Auction Bidding will be open on July 18, 2014, from 9 am - 6 pm ET.
  • All bidders are required to fill out a Silent Auction Bidder Registration Form. The form must be turned into the AEA representative overseeing the silent auction.
  • Silent Auction starting bids will be established by the following method: After Absentee/Proxy Bidding closes at 4pm ET on the July 17th the received bids will be tallied. At that time the sheets for the Silent Auction Bidding will be filled out with any bids received from Absentee/Proxy Bidders. If no Absentee/Proxy Bids were place on a particular egg the Silent Auction Bid sheet will be left blank.
  • Silent Auction Bids will be placed by writing down your name or assigned bidder number and the amount of your bid on the Silent Auction bid sheets which will be displayed next to each egg entry.
  • The starting bid for each egg is $25.00. Subsequent bids must be a least $5.00 higher than the current bid. For example if the current bid is $82.31 the new bid must be $87.31 or more.
  • Silent Auction Bids will be updated periodically with the Absentee/Proxy Bids.
  • Bidders must be 18 years of age or older.
  • By placing an Silent Auction bid you agree to abide by all rules, terms, and conditions of the contest and you accept responsibility to purchase the item.
Auction Winners:
  • Auction winners will be contacted at the close of the auction (6pm ET, Friday, July 18, 2014)
  • Payment must be received in full by 5pm ET, July 19, 2014. If payment is not received in full by this time the preceding highest bidder will be given the opportunity to purchase the egg.
  • Acceptable Payment Forms for Absentee/Proxy Bidders - PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. No checks or money orders will be accepted.
  • Acceptable Payment Forms for Silent Auction Bidders - PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, cash or known check.
  • All egg art must be paid for in full before being claimed by the winner.
  • Shipping via Priority Mail: Egg art that needs to be shipped to the winner must be paid for in full prior to shipping (including additional shipping costs of $15 per egg plus the cost of insurance if desired). Due to US export regulations egg shells will NOT be shipped out of the United States.
